THIS TOOK SO FREAKING LONG TO DRAW!!!
I actually had a lot of fun doing this, and for once, I don't think the background came out like crap. I've been looking at some other people's drawings throughout Inktober (there are a lot of good artists in the "Dice, Camera, Action" fangroup), and looking at the lines. I noticed that some people use both short and long lines for shading in black and white, and I really wanted to try it out.
Nowhere near as good as theirs considering that pretty much every technique I use is one I either discovered accidentally, or one I'm an amateur at since I'm just guessing on what techniques were used.
Being self-taught can be both fun and challenging.
I was considering doing the pumpkin in color, but just decided to keep the entire thing in black and white. I'm not completely happy with the driveway and the street, but it's ink...I can't just erase it.
Might have gone overboard with the shading and texturing, but I really enjoyed making this. Originally, they were going to be wearing "cheap" Halloween costumes and picturing a fantasy group on an adventure, but I decided to just go with this, which is sort of a mix of both. Granted, costumes are starting to become more detailed than the cheap plastic knight chestplates we used as kids and plastic swords which broke if you tried to bend them too far.
This obviously doesn't fit in with the past couple prompts, but I wanted to do a Halloween drawing (as it's customary for me to do). I have to admit, their costumes were a bit inspired by Pathfinder classes. I've been on a bit of a fantasy and gaming kick (and really wish that our Pathfinder group would get back together).
