The Colossus Slayer (An Ode to Bag of Nails)

Gather round ye young and old,
For a story to now unveil!
An exploit of adventure and courage alike
Of the legend, Bag of Nails!

A Tabaxi he may be,
With whiskers white and gray;
Leather armor and a crown of ferns,
A hunter all the way!

A strange bunch, he came across
Yet he joined the motley crew;
And with careful steps and wisdom had
Led them through the Lost City of Omu.

Twas not long when snakes and stone
Parted way to a shadow over the sun,
And from the skies did descend
Klauth, the ancient red dragon.

But Bag of Nails, he did not waver,
And so to save his adopted son and
As well as the rest of the crew,
Declared a fight with the beast, just one-on-one!

Klauth was not phased and gave no heed
As he scooped the bard in his claw,
And that was when brave Bag of Nails
An opportunity to attack, he saw.

He nocked an arrow on his bow
And let it loose on the colossal creature!
It turned to lightening in mid flight
And struck true to the large red feature!

Klauth, he roared and in surprise,
He dropped the bard in his hold
To turn his gaze to the hunter brave
With a gaze piercing and cold!

"Now I am your greatest enemy!"
Bag of Nails did declare
But Klauth drew in a great big breath
And let out a burning flare.

Fire spread and burned the ground,
So hot, solid stone did melt!
But a figure emerged from the blast
Despite all the damage dealt.

Singed and charred, and surely hurt,
Bag of Nails, he did not die!
He stood up tall, lifted up his bow,
And let out a loud war-cry!

"It is my honor to be your foe!"
Bag of Nails, he did loudly shout.
Ready to die a warrior's death,
He was set for another bout!

"Pay attention to this moment, and never forget!"
Doth the hunter did he wail
As he prepared his bow for another shot:
"The name 'Bag of Nails'!"

From point blank range, his arrow it flew
And to lightning it did turn!
It struck the ancient in the chest
In the battle which both did yearn!

Injured and angry, Klauth took to the sky
And razed the area with his frame;
Though walls collapsed and stone did fall
Our hero's resolve, it did not wane!

He climbed the ladder of a Balloonship nearby,
Its first harpoon, sadly had missed;
But Bag of Nails was not out yet,
And to fire once more, he did insist!

He took control of the ballista,
His aim as sharp as his name;
And scored a hit to Klauth's head,
To which we speak of his fame!

Klauth counterattacked, first with fire;
The crew, they did not fare,
But Bag of Nails pulled through again,
Alive despite the scare.

Heavy damage was taken,
But Klauth he did flee; he'd had enough for the day.
Yet Bag of Nails took up the helm
And refused to lose sight of his prey.

So now we sing, and now we speak!
Of this, one of many tales!
Tales of bravery and the fierce!
Of the hero, Bag of Nails!
I said I was going to do this!  It just took a little while to compile everything I wanted in it and actually gain the Inspiration (get it?  Inspiration?) to write it.

A ballad/story/ode for Bag of Nails, a guest featured character in the Dungeons and Dragons stream "Dice, Camera, Action" (episodes 74-76).

I tried to upload it straight to Reddit, but it killed my formatting.  >.>
