Even more unexpected!  Blake and Danny were the ones to show up and help out!

Blake isn't really making fun of Kairy in the last panel (with the "dork" comment) so much as he's just blown away by the stupidity of the bullies.

So, finally getting to the main point.  There are another couple to go in this "arc", but this hits more on the topic.
Though this is a schoolyard confrontation (down to the lack of teachers; they never seem to be around when bullying occurs), the part I went off of was that some idiots out there actually want to harm (or even kill) people with disabilities because America has this bad habit of incorrectly labeling its home-grown terrorists.
Yes, the country needs much better healthcare and mental healthcare, but "mental illness" is just an excuse that places like the NRA and gun nuts use to try and say that it wasn't the fault of the system that a teenager (or an adult in the case of the Vegas shooting) was able to obtain a firearm (typically an AR-15 with a bump stock) and fire round after round into a crowded area (such as a movie theater, outdoor concert, or school).

Ya...no.  The Z-Generation has it right.  Australia had ONE mass school shooting, put new gun laws in place, and hasn't had one since.
Frankly, I think we should get what Japan has for gun control.  To get a gun in Japan, one must:

-First have to attend an all-day class and pass a written test, which are only held once per month. You also must take and pass a shooting range class.

-Then, you need to head over to a hospital for a mental test and drug test, which you'll file with the police.

-Finally, you have to pass a rigorous background check for any criminal record or association with criminal or extremist groups.

-When that is all finished and you've been cleared, you will be able to purchase your weapon.

-Oh, and you're required to re-take the initial class and exam (from the first step) every three years.

There were a couple other things, but in a discussion I had with someone, they raised a good point about the 2nd Amendment (in Japan, people have to tell the police where their weapon and ammo are stored; due to the nature of the 2nd Amendment, which was written as a last ditch fail-safe for a system in the 1800's before there were tanks, it was meant to be so the people could form an armed militia in case the government went rogue).
So, alright...take out the part of telling the police where in the house the gun is (plus, with the amount of cops who shoot first and can't ask questions later cause the person is dead, I can see why many people would be uneasy about applying that step).

There was yet another school shooting in Maryland just a couple days ago.  This one involved a Glock (pistol), so of course the gun nuts are coming out and saying that we don't need better gun control since the only person who died (at the time of the initial discussion) was the shooter (an officer at the school shot him)...though now we know that the girl who was shot also died.  Another teen was injured as well.

Know how far that person would have gotten with a knife?  According to peeps from the UK, not very far.

I've seen people all over the world chiming in on this discussion...and I've seen how much they laugh at America and scold America because of our craptastic gun control laws.
Look, I'm not anti-gun, but I value the lives of people over inanimate objects.

If someone told me that I'd have to give up all my Pokemon games because they became banned due to...I dunno...causing seizures or something and it was thus a health risk, I'd do it.  I'd be sad, but I'd still do it.  Even if I don't know the people affected, that doesn't matter; they're still human beings and have a right to LIVE.

That goes with the gun argument, too.  It's a lot of pro-gun versus anti-gun, and then people like me who are in the middle chiming in as well.  I've seen some anti-gun folk who have silly ideas (banning all guns is not a solution), and pro-gun folks who don't even know why the 2nd Amendment exists in the first place.  I've also seen some pro-gun people who want stricter gun control laws, and anti-gun people who are reasonable enough to try to compromise at something.

Raising the age of purchase from 18 to 21 (yes, you read that right; one can buy a gun before they can legally drink alcohol.  'Murica, amirite?) is just a band-aid solution.
Banning bump stocks is a step in the right direction, but also just a band-aid solution.

None of the band-aid solutions have appeased the Z-Generation literally protesting for their LIVES, nor has it appeased the adults who know that it's not going to stop the shootings.
Yes, the harder we make it for the criminals to obtain the weapons, the more red flags can be traced and perhaps they'll even figure that it's too much effort to even do it.
It's a step, but we need something better.  'Cause schools here are still getting shot up; people are still dying to gun violence at an alarming rate (and many of them are teenagers who are going to school to learn).

Teachers have to run "shooting drills" on what the students need to do in case there's an active shooter.

When I went to school, all we had to do were fire drills.
When my parents went to school, they had bomb drills.
Kids these days have both fire drills and "in case of shooting" drills.

The "bomb drills" of the past never came to be, but the shootings are real; there might be a time when that drill will save lives.

Know what else would save lives?
Better freaking gun control.

The "active shooter drills" is like that "Dead by Daylight" game where there's a killer on the loose already and a group of people who have to try to survive it with what they know.

How about not unleashing the killer in the first place?  Yea, you'd have a boring video game in the analogy, but in real life it's for the best if the killer never even gets set loose with their armory.

I know this is a sensitive topic; I'm sure not everyone is going to agree 100% with what I'm saying.  If it was that easy (and if our government wasn't a freaking plutocracy where our reps are taking money from places like the NRA) then a solution like Japan's laws would already be in place.
I ask that if you want to discuss it, either with me or each other, that you do so in a civilized manner.

And frankly?  Anyone who has a mindset like what the bull in this comic has are the "crazies" who shouldn't be allowed to own anything more dangerous than a plastic butter knife.
Just because I have ASD, that doesn't make me crazy or dangerous.  It's the stupid "mental illness" stigma that places like the NRA and some media reporters use that keeps up this cycle of fear from people who don't know the difference between Autism Spectrum Disorder and Antisocial Personality Disorder.
That, and besides creating a stigma against all people with mental disabilities, it's one of those "look that way" distractions used by the nutty pro-gun folk who don't want to admit that the problem is that America has one of the worst gun control systems in the world.

Just as I thought...like with Blake here, NTs say mean-sounding names to and about others all the time...and never mean any malice!

But that cattle and the two rats, they're most likely sociopaths. I have to wonder if they care even about each other.
